The stage is set depicting a nuclear power station susceptible to critical failure. Students are expected to act quickly as inclement weather and strong winds from off the coast have caused flooding in areas around the reactor and its cooling system is damaged. Subsequently, the reactor has initiated an emergency shutdown which would lead to a contamination of the surrounding areas with deadly levels of radiation. The team is expected to combat the flood, minimize damage, and ultimately avert a nuclear meltdown.
